Epicurean Nights - From Darkness to Light with Champagne Henriot was a curation of 3 special evenings in November 2018 to launch Champagne Henriot’s new prestigious cuvee wine, “Hemera”. The tour started in New York at National Sawdust.

Sound, visuals, aromas were presented while the audience enjoyed a multi-course meal with the different Champagnes served during the evening.

I was tasked with painting a portrait of Hemera, the goddess of light and the name of the special Champagne being launched.

I used specially-made colored chocolate paint on edible chocolate canvas created by Frederic Robert, Pastry Chef of the Peninsula New York. I painted during the course of their meal and at the finale, Frederic smashed the portrait into pieces on a white table facing the audience. Then Frederic took a broken piece and ate it, revealing the canvas is edible, and invited guests on stage to share a taste.

Menu by Chef Frederic Robert, musical artistic direction by Melanie Genin, music composed by Ricardo Romaneiro and visuals by Mau Ceppi.
